Annalakshmi
Annalakshmi On the Swan is an Indian vegetarian restaurant located on the banks of the Swan River in Perth. It is largely run through the work of voluntary staff that includes mothers and grandmothers all of whom know what it takes to prepare a wholesome meal with homely love.
Annalakshmi welcomes guests from all walks of life where one pays what his/her heart feels. This facilitates the generosity of some to do a noble deed of providing for the less fortunates through the services of Annalakshmi. Annalakshmi,the “mother” of sustenance sits on the banks of the Swan and provides an ambient atmosphere where vegetarian dining is a cultural experience.
Swan Festival of Lights
Since 2008, the Swan Festival of Lights has been setting the Perth foreshore alight with a multitude of colours, rhythms and flavours. Celebrating the festival of Deepavali (Diwali), which literally means ‘row of lights’, the festival uses the unifying theme of ‘light’ to bring together and celebrate Western Australia’s cultural diversity through dance, music and cuisine.This smoke and alcohol-free event is organised by the non-profit organisations The Temple of Fine Arts and Annalakshmi Cultural Centre of WA.
